Treatments FAQs
SPMU
Does it hurt?
There is a possibility of some discomfort even after the topical aesthetic has been used but this would be very mild discomfort. Anesthetics work better on some people than others. Again this varies from person to person as we all have different pain thresholds, you may feel a slight discomfort whereas some people don't even feel it & have been known to fall asleep! The service can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. However, the anaesthetic is applied during (not beforehand) to keep this to a minimum to where it is usually completely tolerable. Therefore the treatment is only slightly uncomfortable on the first pass which takes approximately 5-10 minutes. However Lip Blush treatments have pre numbing cream applied before the mapping takes place. This will be more bearable for when the treatment begins then topical anaesthetic is applied throughout the procedure.
Is permanent makeup safe?
Yes, all my pigments are pharmaceutical grade, made of natural minerals & are selected for the safe, non toxic hypo-allergenic properties. All needles are pre sterilised & single use disposed after each client. all my equipment is cleaned to the highest standard with specialised hygienic wipes & disinfectant. A patch test will be carried out at least 48hrs before any treatment to ensure no allergic reactions occur.
Can you work over old tattoos?
Yes, however, it also depends on the severity of the previous tattoo. Photos would need to sent for approval. Alternatively you could book in for a consultation first.
How long will it last?
It varies from person to person as all treatments typically lasts between 1-3 years. The retention will depend on a number of factors, such as lifestyle, skin type, sun exposure, health conditions, medications, age, use of sun beds and following pre/post treatment advice. The pigments used are designed to degrade within the skin and your body’s lymphatic system to remove them. How quickly and effectively this happens is bespoke to you. Microblading is not recommended if you have particularly oily skin, large pores or very thin skin. I recommend a annual colour boost to keep your shape & colour looking fresh. It is usual to expect a touch-up (complimentary and included) treatment after the healing is completed from your initial treatment. Initially the colour will appear much more vibrant or darker compared to the end result. Usually within 7 days the colour will fade 40-50%, soften and look more natural.
Do I need a patch test?
Yes. All clients are required to have a patch test prior to the treatment. You’ll be given this information once your treatment has been confirmed.
As with anything, you can always react, so we require you to either pop in for a24-hour patch test. This can booked in at any time on the lead up to your appointment (must be carried out at least 48hrs before treatment).
Do I need a follow-up appointment?
In the vast majority of cases two treatments are enough to achieve the desired results. In some cases multiple treatments may be required. This is done typically between 6-8 weeks. The follow up session is vital to allow tweaks, colours changes and add-ons to the treated area once fully healed. Think of it more of a perfecting session. You will have the initial session which is the start of the process and the follow up session allows us to make any changes necessary. For example, if you heal lighter than expected, have some missing areas, need to alter the shape etc, this is all completely normal and should be expected.
Can I wear regular makeup after my treatment?
You should not use makeup products & creams on the treated area for 7 days after your treatment, this will help to avoid infection.
How many treatments will I need?
Eyebrow treatments are done in two sessions which are 6-8 weeks apart. Both lips & brows are generally done in two sessions 6-8 weeks apart but can take up to three sessions depending on colour, thickness & treatment chosen.
How long do treatments take to heal?
Everyone is different but it takes around a week for eyebrows & lips to scab/shed around 4-5 days. It is perfectly normal for your colour to disappear & reappear. Please be patient as the overall healing process can take up to 6 weeks.
"Trust the process!"
How long do treatments take?
Treatments take between 2-3hrs, this includes expert pre-draw, measuring & mapping. If this is your first appointment then please allow up to 3hrs & up to 2hrs for your perfection appointment at 6-8 weeks. I will never begin a treatment until myself & my client are 100% happy with style, shape & colour.
Can the area become infected?
Although rare, there is a risk of Infection. The areas treated must be kept clean and only freshly cleaned hands should touch the areas. “After Care” instructions will be given post treatment.
Is there a chance of uneven pigmentation?
This can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding or many other causes. Your follow up appointment will aim to correct any uneven appearance. please bare in mind that you may require an additional supplementary session if needed as all skin heals differently.
Will I have perfect asymmetry?
Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry but our faces are not symmetrical so adjustments may be needed during the follow up session to correct any unevenness. Also please remember when it comes to brows they are sisters and not twins!
Will I have excessive swelling or bruising?
Some people might bruise and swell more than others. Some people don’t bruise or swell at all.
Can I go to the gym after my treatment?
Following your aftercare is an important aspect of your treatment and in order to achieve the best possible results avoiding sweating, exercise, heat, steam, spa days etc is required. If you would like the best results, please follow the aftercare advice!
Semi Permanent Lip Blush
Lip liner and blush tattooing adds definition, a burst of colour and a plumper appearance to your lips.
This treatment creates a crisp, defined lip line. As we age, our lips become thinner and lose their natural colour. Lip liner and blush restores the youthful look back into your lips. We have a wide range of colours that you will be able to select from with your technician on the day of your treatment.
Lip liner and blush tattooing is often sought after by clients who feel uneasy about having dermal fillers in their lips but would still like to achieve fuller looking lips without filler and do so by using this treatment as an alternative.
No longer do clients have to worry about smudged lipstick, this is the permanent ‘smudge free’ alternative. Long lasting, tattooed lip stain which perfectly compliments the clients skin tone. Be as bold or as subtle as you wish, semi permanent lipstick is suitable for every taste.
*Please bear in mind that there is very specific pre care advice for this treatment, which can be found under Additional pre care/ prep for lip blush & liner on the SPMU pre care page.
What is the blush?
The blush is tattooed using the colour pigment of your choice, this is simply a ‘blush’ of colour to the lips which helps to emphasise your lips. To enhance your new colour/blush you can wear a lipgloss to make them pop everytime! Lip liner and blush would not be a replacement for bolder lipsticks such as reds and dark purples, but it will, however look as though you are wearing a light, natural colour on your lips. If on the odd occasion you would like to go for a bolder look any choice of lipstick colour can be applied over this. Lip blush is a everyday get up and go look where no makeup needs to be applied.
Can you tattoo over my natural lip line so that my lips look larger?
When outlining the shape I will take into consideration:
- Your current lip shape
- Symmetry
I will always show you my pre-draw and we can tweak until you are 100% happy and content!
Please note I cannot over line your lips on to the skin as this risks pigmentation bleeding and discolouring. We are unable to tattoo over your lip line as once healed this will look unnatural.
Can I have lip blush if I have lip fillers?
It’s absolutely fine to have lip blush after having lip fillers. We recommend receiving the fillers firsthand waiting approximately 6-8 weeks after this before having the lip blush treatment.
Do I still need to wear lipstick?
While we offer a variety of colours, from light to bold, the treatment lightens up to 40% - 50% while healing. Lip liner and blush would not be a replacement for bolder lipsticks such as reds and dark purples, but it will, however look as though you are wearing a light, natural colour on your lips.
Can I still have Lip Blush if I suffer with cold sores?
Yes! You can still have lip tattooing done. Although this does not stop you having a procedure I recommend you apply an antiviral cream such as Zovirax 5 days prior to and 5 days after treatment, or take any medication you may have or have been prescribed if you tend to suffer from outbreaks. The virus can lay dormant so this will minimise any risk of an outbreak. Some clients with permanent lip color have noticed the reduced occurrence of cold sores on their lips. The pigment may offer a layer of protection to lip tissue, but there is no proper medical research on this topic to confirm it.
If you have a cold sore on treatment day don't panic, we can postpone for 14 days or when it's completely healed.
How do I prepare for my lip blush treatment?
Prior to your lip blush treatment it is vital that your lips are fully hydrated. No dry skin, flakes or sores. Pre care advice for this treatment can be found under Additional pre care/ prep for lip blush & liner on the pre care page. Please bear in mind that if your lips are not in good condition then the treatment cannot go ahead. This will result in the booking fee being forfeited.
What does the healing process look like?
While there are a variety of colours to choose from, from light to bold, the treatment lightens up to 30% - 50% while healing.
Here is an example of what you can expect before you are ready for your next topup/perfecting session, from 6-8 weeks.
Semi-Permanent Brows
Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Tattooing, is also known as Micropigmentation, Microblading or Permanent Eyebrows.
This treatment is becoming increasingly popular amongst men and women of all ages. Eyebrows are known for framing and lifting the face, giving a more youthful appearance. Eyebrow styles vary depending on the client’s individual face shape, skin tone, age and hair colour. All eyebrows tattooed are bespoke to each client. It is a treatment where a needle and pigment are used along with an A class precision plus machine to create your perfect tattooed eyebrow. No eyebrow is the same, they are all bespoke to each client’s face shape and are age appropriate.
We see more and more clients come to us with sparse or no eyebrow hair wanting their eyebrows to look thicker. This treatment is suitable for most people who have lost their eyebrows due to hair loss, alopecia or cancer treatment.
A lot of clients wish to have tattooed eyebrows for cosmetic purposes. For example, to save time in the morning drawing them on. Other reasons could be to enhance their natural eyebrow shape and create a shape that compliments their face and age.
Can I choose the colour and shape of my eyebrows?
Colour, shape and style of eyebrows are all discussed on the day of your appointment. The deciding factors are based on; your skin tone, face shape, natural brow shape, hair colour and what your preference is. It really isn’t ‘one size fits all’, each eyebrow is bespoke to the individual client.
Can you tattoo something natural?
Yes of course, typically the most natural style would be a hair stroke eyebrow. We offer hair strokes, powdered, ombre and combination eyebrows. Your technician can advise which will be best suited to you. Eyebrows are always made age appropriate and suit the client’s own personal style.
Do I need to shave off my own eyebrows?
We ask that you do not shave off your eyebrows. We recommend plucking/waxing/shaping/threading your eyebrows no closer than two weeks before your treatment.
Do I still need to pluck and tint my own eyebrows after the treatment?
You will need to continue grooming your eyebrows however you did prior to having them tattooed. Your eyebrows will still grow around the tattoo and the pigment does not dye the hairs.
Will my eyebrows be too dark?
Immediately after the procedure your eyebrows will be 70% darker & 25% thicker than when healed, this is perfectly natural. They will fade and shrink in the first week of the healing process. On the first appointment I will recommend starting with a lighter colour, we can always go darker on your perfection appointment at 6-8 weeks.
Here is an example of what you can expect before you are ready for your next topup/perfecting session, from 6-8 weeks.
Semi Permanent Baby Eyeliner
Baby eyeliner tattooing provides a way to recreate the look of eyeliner without needing to re-apply it every day
Who Can Have an Eyeliner Tattoo?
Before going through with an eyeliner tattoo, it is important to make sure that you are a good candidate for the procedure. Certain conditions can make getting a semi-permanent eyeliner tattoo unsafe, such as illnesses that affect your immunity, like cancer or diabetes; undergoing chemotherapy; being pregnant; or taking blood-thinning medications. Your eye will also be assessed in order to thoroughly review the skin integrity and any wrinkles or fine lines forming around the eye before the correct shape is designed.
How Long Does the Eyeliner Tattooing Take?
The initial appointment takes approximately 1.5 hours. Five to eight weeks after this, a one-hour follow-up session is required to finalize the tattoo that will perfectly enhance your features!
The initial session begins with a thorough consultation to assess your eye area and lashline, then we go through colors and styles, Blondes typically opt for a dark brown, and black lashes are best suited to black eyeliner for best results.
During the treatment, a numbing gel is applied to the skin as the colour is inserted using a digital machine. first The pigment is then inserted into the skin using a digital machine. Finally, a discussion of proper aftercare guidelines to be followed concludes the session.
Does Eyeliner Tattooing Hurt?
The technique feels like a very small scratch to start, and the level of discomfort is about a 3/10, Most describe the process as painless, and if there is discomfort, it is only minimal.
Eyeliner tattooing sessions depend on the individual’s tolerance. The good news is that numbing cream is applied beforehand. Most clients shared that the process is painless, and if there is any discomfort, it is minimal.
How Long Does an Eyeliner Tattoo Last?
A semi-permanent eyeliner tattoo that is well taken care of lasts up to three – five years at best. However, the use of eye creams, swimming in salt water, oils, and other cosmetic products may cause the ink to fade faster.
What are the Risks of Eyeliner Tattoos?
Any procedure involves some risks. However, with an experienced practitioner who is following the correct protocols, there is nothing to worry about!
Immediate and typical side effects may include slight swelling/puffiness of the top lid. You may also experience a slight tingling sensation in the eyeliner area 24 hours post-treatment. Fortunately, any swelling or puffiness subsides in 24 – 48 hours.
Do not worry if the eyeliner appears darker and thicker than intended right after the procedure. As the swelling subsides the colour will fade into the desired hue in a few days as the skin heals!
What is the aftercare for eyeliner tattooing?
The healing typically takes one week, and there will be slight scabbing/flaking in the area. Avoid picking the flakes off and touching and rubbing the eyes as the contact may spread germs and bacteria.
Wearing makeup around the eyes such as mascara or eyeshadow is not advised as the products may interact with the healing. We recommend protecting it during showers and avoiding saunas, swimming pools, and steam baths. We also advised against engaging in physical activities that cause excessive sweating.
Salt & Saline Tattoo Removal
What is Salt & Saline Removal?
Salt and Saline is as a highly effective solution removal method that is totally natural and completely safe for any permanent make up removal.
The main ingredient used is (Salt). Using sterile salt to implement gently under the first layer of the skin. The process is very similar to implementing the pigment (used in permanent makeup techniques) but instead we are lightening and removing it from the skin.
This method is very effective and is used specifically for any removal of previous permanent makeup treatments or small tattoos.
Is this better than Laser Removal?
This technique can be used on any colour of pigment, with no risk of any pigment turning black, or getting stuck in scar tissue as there is with laser.
A highly concentrated salt solution is used in the treatment area. The body contains lower qualities of salt and water, so in response will rise to the area with higher qualities and force the pigment, from the lower layers upwards. Laser removal pushes the pigment further into to skin therefore never leaves the body.
Unwanted pigment is forced to the surface and is then removed in a thin scab that forms over the treatment area.
When Can I Get Saline Removal?
You can get emergency removal within 48 hours after the PMU treatment if you immediately regret getting Permanent Makeup.
If you wait longer than that, you will have to wait for 6-8 weeks until the skin has completely healed from the PMU application. Otherwise, the tissue can be damaged and permanent scarring can occur.
How many Tattoo Removal sessions will I need?
There is no definitive answer to this. I can’t guarantee that I can remove an old brow tattoo in one session as I really don’t know how your skin is going to behave following the treatment, how it’s going to heal. Your skin is very unique to you. There are lots of factors to take into consideration:
- Is your skin oily or dry
- How old is the pigment in the skin
- how saturated is the pigment
- what brand of pigment was used
- Does the pigment contain carbon
- What medication are you on
- Are you suffering from an auto-immune condition
- Do you smoke
- Do you have a healthy lifestyle/diet
As you can see from the list, there are a number of factors that can slow the removal process down. So you need to be committed to the process, trust the process and be patient.
When will I see results?
LiFT draws the old pigment to the surface of the skin. If the pigment is not too deep or too saturated you’ll see results sooner than if the pigment is really old, saturated and implanted deeper in the skin.
How is Tattoo Removal performed?
You will be numbed beforehand. Then the LiFT solution will be implanted into the skin a couple of times to build up the layers of concentrated salt. The procedure takes between 45-60 mins depending on where the old enhancement is located.
Does Tattoo Removal hurt?
It’s not a pleasant procedure. At the end of the day I’m implanting salt into your skin. It will sting. The stinging will go off after a short time. Some people don’t feel much where others can really feel the sting.
How often can I have a Tattoo Removal procedure?
I recommend that you have a removal session once every 8 weeks. You need to wait 8 weeks so the skin can totally heal and settle. This is non-negotiable as the integrity of the skin needs to be protected to stop any damage or scarring to the skin. Once the skin is totally recovered you can book in for your next session. We will look at how the removal is progressing.
Obviously you can decide as and when you want to book your removal sessions, but remember why you started this journey. Keep committed, trust the process and reap the reward of seeing the enhancement fade.
What happens after a Tattoo Removal treatment?
You will need to follow the aftercare instructions religiously to achieve the best results. You will leave my treatment room with instructions and an aftercare pack that includes sterile swabs, saline pod, sterile gallipot, microbalm. Everything you need to keep the area clean and hydrated. The instructions will guide you through the cleansing process and advise as and when to use the healing microbalm.
LED Light Therapy
THE TREATMENT EXPLAINED
LED therapy delivers energy in the form of light deep into the body to energise and improve cell activity, kick-starting the rejuvenation process and treating all layers of the skin as it penetrates, conditioning and hydrating the outer cells as well as boosting the deeper cells.
It places the skin into a state of repair, which leads to an increase in the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Hydration is also boosted, improving plumpness, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and brightening the complexion, allowing the skin to look fresher.
LED therapy also maintains youthful complexions and supports and repairs ageing skin, speeding up blood circulation which nourishes the treatment area. Further boosting regeneration. It switches on your immune system , allowing the body to efficiently ingest compromised and damaged cells, reproduce healthy cells and aid cell detoxification , which helps in the prevention and treatment of glycation
LED therapy is effectively a 'first aid kit' healing wounds, reducing bruising and swelling and calming skin disorders (rosacea, psoriasis.eczema) It can be used to treat the most vulnerable and sensitive skin types and acts as an anti-inflammatory, whilst also strengthening the skin to help alleviate further symptoms
Even the most inflamed conditions can be treated; Improvement in acne-prone skin, for example, can be seen from the first treatment.
There are no adverse reactions or limitations to the treatment or pre- or post-guidelines. Most importantly , no damage is done to the skin to gain a result- the treatment is entirely non-invasive. However, although results are noticeable from the very first treatment , the cumulative effect means the longer the course of treatment , the better (and the longer lasting) the results.
CLIENTS THEREFORE NEED TO BE A PATIENT WITH LED
LED is also the perfect option when traditional facials aren't financially viable, or when time is limited . When incorporated into a traditional facial regime it will enhance the results of other treatments.
The treatment has many secondary wellbeing benefits, including:
boosting anti-oxidants and the immune system, stimulating blood flow round the body and reducing stress hormones, allowing clients to recharge mentally and physically.
LED therapy helps with the ageing process, the visible effects of ageing are lessened by the simple fact that the treatment boosts the levels of collage, elastin and hyalauronic acid, which naturally diminish with age.
THERE ARE NO TREATMENT LIMITS AS LED THERAPY IS TOTALLY HARMLESS
The skin remains receptive no matter how many times its exposed, although a rest period between sessions is recommended to avoid overloading the cells, reducing the effectiveness of the treatment.
A CONTINUOUS REGULAR PROGRAMME OF ONE TREATMENT A WEEK WOULD BENEFIT BOTH THE SKIN AND THE BODY GENERALLY
LED therapy only stimulates healthy cells and is totally safe to use on clients with cancer. Increasing the healthier cells effectiveness in the fight against damaged cells.
LED therapy not only stimulates skin cells, it also works on the lymphatic system and drainage, therefore helping to rid the body of toxins.
Those post-cancer, nor with cancer and not in the middle of treatment , can take advantage of the multiple benefits of LED therapy.
CAN I USE LED LIGHT THERAPY WHILE PREGNANT?
Yes, in fact, these LED devices are safe for women who are pregnant and breastfeeding. And they’re a good, chemical-free option for controlling the hormone-triggered acne of pregnancy. They’re also pain free and require no downtime.

HOW DOES LED WORK?
LED photo technology activates cellular metabolism and energy, assisting the production of collagen and elastin synthesis by increasing ATP synthesis and metabolising the fibroblast cells.
Photo-modulation emulates photosynthesis in human skin cells, using the cells own cytochromes to build new proteins just as plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into structural building blocks.
Low wattage light is directed through the skins epidermis and aimed at fibroblast cells, which produce collagen and elastin. The light stimulates the cells own energy transport system, therefore helping to stimulate and renew the skin.
RED: ANTI-AGEING, STIMULATES COLLAGEN, REDUCES FINE LINES, SCAR REDUCTION AND REJUVENATES THE SKIN.
YELLOW: TIGHTENS AND TONES, DETOXIFIES AND STIMULATES THE SENSORY MOTOR NERVOUS SYSTEM
BLUE: TREATS ACNE,ANTIBACTERIAL, REGULATES OIL GLANDS
VOILET: TREATS PSORIASIS, DERMATITUS AND VITILIGO
GREEN: CALMS RED SKIN, BROKEN RED CAPILLARIES. ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ROSACEA, TRAUMATISED SKIN (SUNBURN) , AID IN FADING PIGMENTATION AND UNEVEN SKIN COLOUR
Light doses ranging in colour have been proven to be most effective for skin rejuvenation treatments that relate to rehabilitation of the microcirculation and encouragement of fibroblast activity.
Techniques that pulse the light at specific cycles or codes (on-time and off-time) have reportedly proved most effective and this technique is called LED photo-modulation.
This relatively new process has the unique ability to stimulate and/or inhibit cell-signalling pathways for skin rejuvenation and potentially represents the next frontier in anti-ageing medicine.
Photomodulation is a process that manipulates or regulates cell activity using light sources without thermal effect. This is achieved using portions of the visible light spectrum that does not contain any ultra violet or infra-red, thus achieving a non-thermal, non-invasive, and non-ablative method of skin rejuvenation.
Studies of LED photo-modulation have shown skin textural improvement accompanied by increased collagen deposition with reduced MMP-1(collagenase) activity in the papillary dermis. Using photo-modulation , scientists theorise that we are both slowing down collagen breakdown and building up new collagen.
LED PRIMARY SKINCARE AREAS
WE USE LED TO SUPPORT 3 PRIMARY SKINCARE AREAS
1. SKIN HEALTH
When used as part of a skincare regime. LED therapy provides the perfect foundation to everyday great skin and is a fundamental beauty treatment that can freshen complexions and lift the mood in just 15 minutes. a lovely glow will be visible for around 3-4 days after just 1 session, but it is recommended to have weekly or fortnightly treatments for skin health and maintenance.
Studies show that when using LED light therapy skin cells grow 150%-200% faster when exposed to different wavelengths of light. When the light penetrates down to the target cells, a change is caused within the cell. This strengthens the skins blood capillaries, leading to improve oxygenation and detoxification of the skin.
LED can be used weekly to protect, nourish, treat , correct and restore the health of the skin. There are no aesthetic treatments available that can be used so frequently and achieve such wide ranging results. This holistic view of skincare is unique in addressing both healthy and compromised skin.
The treatment is highly effective in doubling lymphatic flow , boosts your skins protective cells and enables cells to accept and utilise skincare products more effectively and efficiently, ultimately meaning products last longer.
2. CORRECTIVE
LED therapy is effectively a first aid kit healing wounds, reducing bruising and swelling and calming skin disorders including acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema. It can be used to treat the most vulnerable and sensitive skin types and acts as an anti-inflammatory, whilst also strengthening the skin to help alleviate further symptoms.
Blue LED light therapy (415nm)is fantastic for the treatment of mild to severe acne in adolescents and adults, acne scarring , and skin maintenance to prevent further acne breakouts. Blue light treatment is a natural and powerful technique, targeting the follicle to kill p acnes, the bacteria that grows deep inside the pores, where it feeds off sebum and can cause inflamed spots. The new-infrared rejuvenation facial then reduces inflammation in the blemish, speeds up the healing process and improves overall condition of the skin. Complexions will be fresher and brighter and skin texture and tone improved.
Red light treatment is amazing to use post treatment whereby the acid mantle or epidermis has been compromised i.e derma rolling, skin peels or microdermabrasion. The light helps to speed up the healing process in the dermal and epidermal skin layers and redness and inflammation is reduced.
3. ANTI-AGEING
LED light therapy puts the skin into a state of repair, which leads to an increase in the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid
Hydration is boosted, improving plumpness, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and brightening the complexion, allowing the skin to look fresher. the visible effects of ageing are lessened by the simple fact that the treatment boosts the level of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which naturally diminish with age.
LED therapy also maintains youthful complexions and supports and repairs ageing skin, speeding up blood circulation that nourishes the treatment area, further boosting regeneration. It switches on your immune system, allowing the body to efficiently ingest compromised and damaged cells, reproduce healthy cells and aid cell detoxification , which helps in the prevention and treatment of glycation, (a crepe-like texture to the skin)
IMPORTANT BENEFITS
HYDRATION
Treats dry and dehydrated skin by boosting hyaluronic acid within the skin. Treats deep and superficial hydration, plumps and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
OILY SKIN
Balances out oil production and mattifies.
THIN VUNERABLE SKIN
LED is a fantastic tool for strengthening crepey, vulnerable skin, It encourages new healthy cells and supports them until they mature into nice plump cells-many people over exfoliate nowadays, which means their skin has a flatness to it, and the cells remain in a premature state, never fully maturing.
THICKENED SKIN
Whilst LED greatly strengthens skin, especially fragile and vulnerable skin, it also helps refine very thick and over oily skin, which is improved along with texture.
PIGMENTATION
LED doesn't work in the same way as IPL and laser, which targets pigmentation by breaking it down and bringing it to the surface , Instead LED calms the melanocytes and thickens the epidermal layer by producing healthy cells, encouraging them to mature, improving plumpness and reducing the appearance of pigmentation. Treats the complexion as a whole, improving clarity and overall tone.
TEXTURE
Greatly improves texture. One of the first things that clients notice is a smoothness and softness to the skin. We usually say they will notice improvements to their skin around 4 treatments , but some clients notice improvements earlier and smoothness is one of them.
FINE LINES AND WRINKLES
Increases hyaluronic acid and collagen production, which in turn plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
ACNE
Attacks and destroys the bacteria that causes acne and reduces inflammation in the blemish , speeds up the healing process and improves overall condition of the skin. Your complexion will be fresher and brighter and skin texture and tone improved.
RED BLOOD VESSELS
Strengthens the skins blood capillaries, leading to improved oxygenation and detoxification of the skin. Doesn't target veins, but improves appearance by hydrating capillaries and thickening epidermal layer.
PRE AND POST SUN EXPOSURE
Boosts anti-oxidants and protective cells, preparing skin to deal with sun exposure and restoring skin post.
ROSACEA/ECZEMA/PSORIASIS
Switches the system on to create healthy cells, whilst renewing the lining in blood vessels and forming new blood vessels to improve skins appearance.
BONE DENSITY
Penetrates bone and brings oxygenated blood to the area, which improves bone density. Bones naturally degenerate as we age, and this will help maintain bone structure around the eye socket and jawline.
ALLERGIES (HAYFEVER/ASTHMA)
Improved lymphatic system can help your body fight off infection, speed up healing and recovery from illness and reduce the chance of suffering from minor colds and viruses.
PUFFINESS
Improves puffiness by reducing inflammation and improving lymphatic system-flow can be doubled with LED use, increasing drainage and toxin removal
SCAR TISSUE
Can break down and speed up healing in scar tissue
STRESS
Lowers stress hormones during the treatment including cortisol levels
ENERGISING
Stimulates blood flow round the whole body, energising and nourishing skin and organs
ANTI-OXIDANTS
Boosts anti-oxidants in skin (helps protect against free radicals) and body (helps fight illness and colds)
COLD SORES
Great at killing bacteria and infection. As soon as the immune system is feeling low and a cold is coming, get under the light to stimulate the auto-immune system. The same applies if the tingle of a cold sore is present, if the cold sore is visible or starting to surface LED will most likely stop it from surfacing or heal the sore quicker
OTHER BENEFITS TO LED THERAPY
It acts as a preventative in terms of the breakdown of the body, slowing the various side-effects of ageing.
If a cold sore is either already visible or starting to surface, a treatment will either stop it breaking out or quicken the healing process.
When used before exposure to sunlight it helps to prevent damage to skin, the newly stimulated cells acting as protective layerits great at killing bacteria and infection, At the first hint of a cold or if you feel run-down, a treatment will stimulate the autoimmune system, aiding in the recovery process.
Ultimately, LED therapy is a preventative treatment, reducing the recurrence of a particular condition.
Beauty Treatments
Eyebrow Wax
Will it hurt?
Getting your eyebrows waxed for the first time is probably going to be slightly uncomfortable. However, the more you wax, the less it will hurt. Continuous waxing eventually weakens the hair follicles, making the experience much more manageable.
What will my skin look like after the waxing?
Your eyebrows will likely be red and a little inflamed immediately after the waxing session. Most waxers apply a product to soothe the irritation, which generally goes away after about 30 minutes. However, you can speed up the healing process by applying cooling ointments, such as chilled aloe vera gel.
How often should I get my eyebrows waxed?
Brows generally require waxing about every two weeks, although it varies by person. Some people grow hair at a faster rate than others and benefit from waxing every one and a half weeks, while others can go up to three weeks or longer between sessions.
Will my brows look uneven?
Eyebrows are referred to as “siblings,” not “twins.” One is inevitably higher than the other, so do not panic if your brows are not completely even. Many makeup artists and beauty experts say the eyebrows should not be even because it brings more character to the face.
Eyebrow Tint
What is eyebrow tinting?
As long as you’ve got brows which have been shaped well, an eyebrow tint makes for daily ready-to-go brows with no fuss. No filling in is necessary. Instead, your brows will stand out on their own, framing your face beautifully.
Eyebrow tinting involves applying semi-permanent dye to your eyebrow hairs in the colour of your choice. It’s very common to have eyebrows which are, at least in part, much paler than your hair colour. Tinting helps to ensure that the shades match – and this is what leads to a bolder look.
How long does eyebrow tinting last?
Eyebrow tinting lasts between 3-6 weeks, with most choosing to have theirs redone monthly. It’s a low cost and fast beauty treatment.
If you opt for a slightly darker shade than your intended hair colour, this helps them to last longer. The original intensity fades, and you’re still left with a full-looking brow.
Is eyebrow tinting safe?
Eyebrow tinting involves applying dye to the face, particularly near the eye. For this reason, special dyes need to be used. You should not attempt to tint your own eyebrows using hair dye; this is dangerous.
The biggest concern for most people is having an allergic reaction to the products used. If you get your eyebrows tinted by a professional brow technician, they should do a patch test first to make sure the dye is safe to be used on your brows.
Lash Lift
I have really short lashes and/or curly lashes, can I get a lash lift?
Yes! You may be really pleased with the results and realize your eyelashes are actually longer than you thought! Especially being someone with extremely curly lashes, this is a great treatment to retrain the growth pattern of your lashes.
I have eyelash extensions, can I get a lash lift?
No, you may not get a Lash Lift with eyelash extension applied. However, this is a great treatment to get before you get your extensions put on. If you have very straight, or extremely curly eyelashes, getting a Lash Lift before getting your eyelash extensions installed can help make the natural eyelashes blend better.
How long does it last?
Many clients combine a lash tint with a lash lift to enhance their results. Lifts can last up to eight weeks long. Every person has a slightly different rate of hair growth, so you have to wait and see how long your results will last.
Do I need a patch test?
All clients are required to have a patch test prior to the treatment. This can be booked in via the booking system.
All Tint/Lift/Lamination treatments require a 24-hour patch test. This can booked in at any time on the lead up to your appointment (must be carried out at least 48hrs before treatment).
Lash Tint
Is It Safe?
The dyes used around the eye area are specifically formulated to be extra gentle. It should not hurt when it’s applied to your lashes but may feel a little irritating from the fumes.
If you have reactive skin in general, a lash tint may not be for you. Some people find they are allergic to lash dye. If you have ever had an allergic reaction to a hair dye or henna, you may need to avoid lash tints and go for extensions or lifts instead. A patch test is required 24hrs pre treatment.
How Long Does Eyelash Tint Last?
Your lash tint should last about a month. The dyes are not permanent, so there will be a slow fading of color over time. Typically, our eyelashes fall out naturally at the rate of one to five lashes per day! This is another reason why eyelash tints don’t last as long as you might think. Then, it takes another four to eight weeks to fully grow another eyelash.
How long your color will last also depends on how well you take care of your lashes. Minimize chlorine exposure, sun, and oily eye makeup to prolong your tint. A lot of sun exposure can also fade your lashes, so wear sunglasses outside.

Brow Lamination
What Is A Brow Lamination?
Eyebrow lamination is the latest beauty secret that will thicken and enhance your natural brows. Similar to the idea of a lash lift, brow lamination involves the application of a setting lotion that gives the brow hair a semi-permanent “brushed up” and lifted look. Whether you have thin, thick, or over plucked eyebrows, brow laminating is the perfect solution to give you the everyday look you want, without effort.
How long do laminated brows last?
The brushed up effect of Brow Lamination lasts about 4 to 6 weeks, but this doesn't happen by itself! To enjoy the lifted effect for weeks, the eyebrows must be combed in the desired direction every morning or night. Every client will be given an aftercare pack containing a spoolie & nourish oil to look after them!
'Brow lamination maintenance' appointments are recommended in between lamination appointments to keep your brows in healthy condition, which also includes a wax & tint. Maintenance steps include; Brow cleanser, buffer, conditioner & silk drops.
What type of eyebrow hair is Brow Lamination not suitable for?
Brow Lamination is not suitable for extremely thin brows or very short brows. Additionally, the treatment is a no-go for irritated skin, such as with acne, eczema or sunburnt skin around the eyebrows.
Hybrid Brows / Hybrid Tint
What are hybrid brows?
The hybrid brow tint is a crossover between regular brow tint and henna brow tint. It combines the best of both to ensure the longest-lasting results.
Hybrid dye for eyebrows usually comes as an easy-to-work-with cream or liquid formula that colours the hair as well as the skin.
With this brow tinting technique, you get a soft ombré powdery makeup effect. But if you’re looking for a bolder, more intense effect, hybrid brow tint can give you that, too.
How is Hybrid Tint different from a classic tint?
A classic brow tint focuses mostly on tinting the hair, rather than giving a stain. Also, a classic brow tint doesn’t fully penetrate the brow hair and therefore will not last as long. The hybrid brow stain will give a much more defined and fuller look, since it stains the skin with more intensity.
What are the benefits of Hybrid Tint?
Given that hybrid brow tint aims to combine the benefits of 2 basic methods of tinting, these are its most notable advantages:
- Fuller and more voluminous-looking brows
- Lasts longer than regular and henna brow tint
- It’s ammonia-free
- It’s gentler on the hair and skin
- Customizable shades
- Stains both hairs and skin
- Can achieve more natural-looking results
Who is Hybrid Brow Tint best suited for?
Hybrid eyebrow tint is great for anyone looking to enhance their brows by getting an instant fullness and volume, and filling in any sparse areas.
This treatment is great for anyone who:
- Wants more defined-looking eyebrows
- Wants to darken up light brow hairs
- Wants to fill in sparse areas in their eyebrows
- Wants to improve brow symmetry
- Is afraid to commit to more permanent results of brow tattoos
- Is allergic to henna
It works well even on sparse brows and oilier skin – although, the ideal clients are those who don’t have very oily skin.
Can I have Hybrid Tint whilst pregnant or breastfeeding?
This treatment is not suitable for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, however classic tint is perfectly safe. Please see our BROW WOW MAKEOVER as this offers the same service minus the hybrid tint.
Can Hybrid Tint be combined with a Brow Lamination?
Yes. Hybrid eyebrow tint can be used after the brow lamination to help darken the reshaped brow hairs. This results in acomplete brow transformation, which is why most clients tend to book them together.
How long does Hybrid Tint last?
Hybrid brow tint is the longest-lasting brow tint that can stay on the hair for up to 6-7 weeks and the skin for up to 10 days! It outlasts both the traditional brow tint as well as henna brows.
However, the longevity of the results can vary depending on the brand, as well as the aftercare and the properties of the client’s hair and skin.
By this we mean the individual differences based on the length, fullness, thickness, and growth structure of the brow hair and skin type itself.
For example, clients who have oily skin may experience fading faster than someone with dry skin. But also differences in lifestyles and skincare habits can hugely contribute.
Please Note
It’s important to mention that initial results may appear notably darker than you’d like.
But don’t panic! This is normal seeing as your skin was also tinted during the procedure. This will gradually fade from face washing, sweating, and sebum, so within 1-3 days you will have your perfect brow shade.
Lash Extensions
You must have 40% of lashes to qualify for an infill.
Infills are recommended every 2/3 weeks depending on how well you look after them and your lash cycle
YOU MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE (OR 14 YEARS WITH PARENTAL CONSENT) TO HAVE LASH EXTENSIONS
Dermaplaning
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a treatment that uses a medical scalpel to gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells and remove fine facial hair commonly known as “peach fuzz”, technically called “vellus” hair. it can be used as an alternative to laser treatments and microdermabrasion or along with them for an enhanced result. This procedure will give your skin a more radiant appearance. Following the treatment, makeup application is smoother and other skincare products are able to penetrate deeper in turn making hem more effective.
Am I a good candidate?
The ideal candidate for Dermaplaning has aging, dry, rough, or uneven skin tone. Dermaplaning can also help reduce the appearance of shallow acne scars, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation.
Is the treatment safe?
This treatment is extremely safe when performed by an properly trained skincare professional. There is no more risk to the skin than when you shave your legs. There is also no downtime associated with this procedure.
Does it hurt? Will it cause cuts?
Dermaplaning is effective by performing a gentle scraping motion across the skin’s surface. With hair removal such as waxing and threading, most people have the idea that all hair removal is painful, but Dermaplaning is entirely painless. There are risks of cuts on the skin, however they are small and very minor as the pressure used for Dermaplaning cannot cause a deep cut. These nicks and scrapes heal within 24-48 hours.
Will it make the hair on my face grow back thicker and darker?
No. There are different types of hair that grow on the body; vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair is found on most areas of the body except palms, soles, lips and genital areas, whereas terminal hairs are found on the scalp, underarms and pubic region. The soft and fine vellus hair grows back at the same rate and texture.
What is the benefit of adding a chemical peel with Dermaplaning?
Hyperkeratosis is a build up of dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. By removing this initial layer, a chemical peel is able to penetrate deeper into the dermis resulting in a more effective treatment. The conjunction of dermaplaning and a chemical peel leaves the skin refreshed and rejuvenated. Together they promote new skin growth and target problems such as aging, sun spots and environmental damage.
How long is the treatment? How often can I have it done?
Dermaplaning takes anywhere between 30-45 minutes and can be performed every 3-4 weeks. The treatment itself removes approximately 21 days worth of dead skin so it is important to let your skin rejuvenate before your next appointment.
What is the difference between dermaplaning and microdermabrasion?
Both options are a form of physical exfoliation. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (peach fuzz) and dead skin cells from the skin, microdermabrasion also exfoliate the surface of the skin, but not as thoroughly or deeply as dermaplaning does.
Microneedling
Can you receive a micropen treatment if pregnant?
Skin needling is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women due to a number of minor reasons. The needles produce micro-injuries which trigger the natural wound healing response. This wound healing and production of new collagen requires vitamins and nutrients which would otherwise be needed for the baby so is suggested to not be used during pregnancy.
Another minor reason is simply increasing the chances of infection which is never a good idea when pregnant.
Can the micro-needling be done on Asian or African American skin?
Skin needling can be safely performed on all skin colours and types. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation as the melanocytes remain intact, like the epidermis, during skin needling.
Other invasive procedures such as laser resurfacing are not recommended for Asian or African American skin due to the potential risks of delayed wound healing, pigmentary changes and scarring. This is where skin needling has an advantage as these potential risks are very unlikely due to the epidermis remaining intact.
What is the skins appearance after the treatment?
After the procedure the client’s skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. The client will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.
How quickly are results visible?
Visible results of skin rejuvenation are generally seen after just 3-6 weeks following procedure and improve further over time. A course of micro-needling sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimum results; however skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment.
Is the skin pen safe?
Skin needling does not involve injections and therefore allergic reactions and side-effects are unlikely to occur. It is minimally invasive, involves minimal downtime (about 24 hours), rapid healing and requires simple after-care.
Skin needling does not involve injections and therefore allergic reactions and side-effects are unlikely to occur. It is minimally invasive, involves minimal downtime (about 24 hours), rapid healing and requires simple after-care.
What are the indications for having a micro-needling treatment?
Skin needling is especially effective for aging concerns such as wrinkles, lines, folds and crows feet. Because collagen is produced, scars and stretch marks can also improve from treatments especially indented acne scars or chicken pox scars. Pigmentation issues can be helped including hyperpigmentation as well as hypo-pigmentation, although pre-treatment assessment and preparation here is essential. General lack of skin radiance, skin firmness and compactness are also an indication for skin needling treatments and visible improvements can be seen.
Are there any side effects or risks associated with skin needling?
Side effects experienced with micro-needling will usually subside within 24-48 hours. They include erythema, stinging, itching, tightness of the skin.
Can micro-needling help with skin wrinkles?
The micropen device excels when used as a treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. Best results are seen over a period of 4-6 treatments.
Can micro-needling remove or repair surgery scars?
Micro-needling has proven to be effective on all manner of acne pitting and scarring, burn scars, injury scars, and yes, surgical scars, as well.
Does a micro-needling treatment hurt or make you bleed?
Depending on the depth or aggressiveness of treatment, it is possible to experience pin-point bleeding during the treatment but not ongoing. You may find temporary redness of the skin for and hour or so, or possibly or a day, depending upon the age of the skin and treatment depth.
How does micro-needling work?
As the micropen device stamps over your skin, it creates micro-point punctures in the skin, the majority of which are simply pushing your pores open temporarily. This is perceived by the body as damage, which stimulates the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin. Your skin reacts to any injury by initiating the healing process. You encourage your skin to continue healing through this micro-needling process.
Your skin normally assumes that scars, stretch marks and wrinkles are repaired, but with the skin pen auto-stamp micro-needling treatments, the skin is tricked into repairing itself. The process of micro-needling skin remodeling can go on for months after each skin pen treatment. Results can be seen within a week or even a few days. Your skin naturally heals itself every 45 days, so with a little micro-needling stimulation changes can be dramatic and fast.
What is the downtime?
It may varies depending on the depth of treatment. We recommend the patient avoid the sun completely for 24-48 hours immediately after treatment. Most patients describe the immediate post treatment period as having sunburn. Patients will experience redness and swelling right after treatment that tends to resolve by the third day.
